JAMES IBORI, FORMER DELTA STATE GOVERNOR TO APPEAL UK CONVICTION

Ex-Governor of Delta state "James Ibori" is set to appeal his UK conviction as his case resumes in London.


The former governor of delta state mr James Ibori who is currently serving in Britain prison for allege corruption is likely to appeal his conviction on the ground that the British police and lawyers involved in his case were all corrupt.

Mr Ibori who was the governor of Delta state for 8 years was said to have lots of properties in more than 3 different countries, and he is also serving 13 years jail time after pleading guilty to 10 counts of fraud and money laundering..

The ex governor's lawyer Mr Ivan Krolick told the southark crown court that ibori was 95 percent certain in challenging his conviction in the court of appeal based on documents that have only recently been disclosed to the defence by the prosecution.

One of British former lawyer who also played a vital role in Ibori's money laundering scandal "Mr Gohil Bhadresh" was released at the hearing yesterday after serving half of his 10 years jail time..According to Gohil's lawyer Mr Stephen Kamlish, he said that, the documents presented there had been widespread police corruption followed by cover ups which is still on going..
